Usually Burny with 'little wings' on the truss rod cover are form the mid. To do is use the Serial number if possible, and/or pickup cavities and neck tenon length. I really want to check out the Edwards Laquer Taste Series. As a rule the MIJ's will have a 2 screw TRC. Burny (Fernandes) never stopped making guitars. You can buy a brand new one in Japan but they are MIC. Not bad though. My advise? Go over to the Japanaxe forum and post. You'll get an answer really fast. I was always told the no serial number guitars were 90's.

Fernandes Serial Number look up
Hey guys, I just got ANOTHER Tele (it's become a sickness) . A Fernandes. I was wondering if anyone knows of a site that has the serial number lookup (a la like Fender used to have). When it comes in -- pics will be posted -- Looks cool in the ebay pics though. Tom

Good luck!! If you find a way, p.m. me. I have an old LE 2X strat (mij), and there's not one single number or letter anywhere except the model # LE 2X stamped on the inside of the neck heel.

Nobody has that info. Fernandes never kept track of that data. People have been inquiring for years though..
