They now understand that this wasChathan who is friendly with the kids and is a very worthy friend. Therefore, the girl (his friend) promises him to keep Kuttichathan in a house for two reasons. One was that her father was a frequent drinker of alcohol thus she wanted that Chathan, who being a very good juggler, to make him himself because her mother is no more, and there is no one to control him. And the second one is that Chathan who being a young lad is also a chain drinker. He also drinks all her daddy’s drinks and thereby changing her father's attitude. But at the same time, this evil magician wants that Kuttichathan to lay hands on a treasure which is to be found. Thus the magician is the owner of Kuttichathan and is thus burnt to death by Chathan in the end.
Chathan thus turns into a bat and flies away. He is a mischievous and fun to be with whose heart is made of gold. He’s every child’s dream friend as he goes about making their wishes come true. A character from Malayali folklore, Kuttichathan was popularised by NavodayaAppachan’s ‘My Dear Kuttichattan,’ which was India’s first 3-D movie. The serial was formed targeting children and thus was a big hit. Thus there are only a few serials that focus on children and thus was liked a lot by the children. Thus the makers hoped for a magic through the plot and gained more and more viewers.
Another spin-off series named Hello Kuttichathan was also very famous and popular among the Indian audience. According to C.S Anil the director of Kuttichathan said, “There are very few programmes that are targeted at children. As ‘My Dear Kuttichattan’ was a hit amongst children when it was released, we thought why not reintroduce Kuttichathan to children.” Thus the show used to come at 18:30 on weekdays only on Surya TV.
